Global Technology Owner (GTO) Active Isolation & Purification

Work Location: EUROPE (preference Delft, Netherlands or Seclin, France)

Place of Work: Hybrid

As a Global Technology Owner (GTO) you will be part of the Global Technology group, composed of a select team of technology engineers who are leading individual equipment focused technology platforms. In collaboration with various internal and external partners, you will be actively driving activities around isolation & purification of active ingredients and play a key role in shaping the future of our Biotechnology business. Your field of action will range from optimizing existing unit operations, leading benchmarking across the network to being a step change catalyst in scouting and implementing technology innovation, thus a key player in driving growth and efficiency within our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & drive technology development across our biotechnology applications of active isolation & purification technologies (Filter press, micro- and ultrafiltration, centrifugation, chromatography…) with special focus on cleaning effectiveness, hygienic design, quality & stability.

  • Responsible for technology scouting including pilot assessments in- and outside our industry to ensure dsm-firmenich is constantly leveraging latest development.

  • Ensure end-to-end leadership across Operations to evaluate business attractiveness and together with the Project Director rally stakeholder network to obtain approval.

  • Owns and drives global technology standardization of unit operations and best practices. Works in close collaboration with R&D technology & process development as well as Engineering & Capital Procurement.

  • Provides URS for new line installations and actively participates in Capex projects

  • Fuels continuous improvement of processes and technologies in the plants in terms of efficiency, yield, quality, safety & sustainability.

  • Leads respective technology know-how management across the organization and maintains relevant communities of practice.

  • In the Netherlands, based on your experience we will offer you a base salary of € 95.000 to € 130.000 per year (based on fulltime, including holiday allowance and 13th month) and extra benefits (25 holiday days, bonus, etc). For other countries we will share info during the screening process.

    You bring

  • Master’s in biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or Food Engineering;

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience including technology scale-up’s.

  • Proven experience in technology development, scale-up and large-scale implementation

  • Experience in quality-by-design, R&D processes, shopfloor practices, process safety and business finance

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; Leadership skills with ability to build relationship in cross-functional and remote set-up.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
