You’ll be responsible to:
Directs day to day activities and manages the work of a small chemical lab in full compliance with the GMP rules.
Suggests ways to improve methods and procedures.
Responsible for developing, qualifying, and implementing appropriate procedures for assigned projects and tasks.
Leads up to eight direct reports.
- Broad knowledge of various chemical techniques
Works with laboratory automation systems (LIMS, SAP, Lab log, TrackWise, etc.)
Review and finalize all OOS investigations.
Ensure all relevant training of laboratory technicians is complete.
Perform administrative laboratory tasks, such as developing and revising SOPs, specifications, and protocols and ensures all remain current.
Serves as departmental representative and interface with DSM business units as well as internal and external customers.
Ensures maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and qualification of laboratory equipment.
Deputy to the QC Supervisor – Finished Forms and Regional Stability.
Backup to all area responsible Quality Control Laboratory Technicians.
Perform applicable statistical analysis.
Involved with customer, regulatory agency, internal and supplier audits.
Perform monthly, and as needed, area responsible Quality Control KPI tracking, trending, and reporting.
Assist with Quality Systems regarding CAPA, HACCP, Hygiene, 5S, Customer Complaints, Change Control, Site Inspection, Stability testing and Production/Cleaning Validation.
Stays current with Chemical developments.

What we look for in you
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline is strongly preferred.
Excellent understanding of Quality Control chemical techniques and methods.
Excellent understanding of laboratory hygiene, GMP, and safety requirements.
Requires strong leadership skills, self direction under minimal supervision, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Five to seven years experience in chemical testing with a broad spectrum of chemical techniques and leadership.
Experience with necessary chemical and quality standards.
Experience in problem solving and decision making on chemical issues.
